For the last 3 years i have been disgusted by the way the democrats have used Katrina as a political football trying to take advantage of this tragedy for their gain...especially since i was in Southeastern Louisiana during the storm and witnessed the failure of state and local leaders as well as the lack of personal responsibility. I was once again sickened this past week during the dem's coronation of their messiah Barack Hussein Obama when i heard Katrina referenced time and again; but the following video takes the cake:
I'm glad Don Fowler, former National Chairman of the DNC, found a category 5 hurricane heading straight for the Louisiana coast to be funny and worth joking about. Sadly this is probably the mindset of the vast majority of those who polluted the Pepsi Center and called for "change".
Sickening at worst, classless at best.
A look at current events from the point of a view of a Conservative Evangelical Christian who stands firmly on the Word of God (that's the Bible for those of you at Berkley) and stands behind the Constitution of the United States of America. So grab yourself a big cup of java, kick back in your chair and enjoy another member of the "vast right wing conspiracy" making his voice heard.

Really? Based on what?
Based on the fact that democrats have been politicizing Katrina for 3 years now and attempted to use this event for political gains numerous times this past week. Add to the fact Michael Moore, who is a proud spokesman for your party said something similar...and there you go.
and i'm guessing you find nothing wrong with what one of your party leaders thinks? I guess that is more proof.

What does this have to do with thinking it's funny? It shows, in fact, the opposite--that it's so not funny that they can use the horror against the Bush Administration.

Again: based on what?
revbeaux, come on, man:
Please explain how "politicizing" the horror of Katrina (and I'd be interested in seeing a link explaining that) is the same as laughing at hurricane victims. Aside from the obvious similarity of being diametrically opposed to one another, that is.
This is what I love about you: you read two separate wingnut talking points about Katrina and do your darnedest to conflate them, despite that fact that they are mutually exclusive.
I haven't seen you disagree with what was said...if anything you have all but defended it here.
How about this Doc...i'm sick of seeing Katrina politicized because i was there. I was living in St. Amant, LA; a short 30 minute drive to Baton Rouge and a short 45 minute drive to Kenner/New Orleans during both Katrina and Rita. I saw the warnings and heard over and over again the weather gurus and the feds saying "Get out..." while people who refused to take personal responsibility, which is normal in Louisiana in hurricane season, and did nothing. I saw Nagin and his crew evacuate and tell people, "You may want to think about leaving" while packing his bags and hitting the road.
During and after the storm i saw Nagin, Blanco, Landrieu and Vitter (yes, i will call out the republican too!) sitting pretty and waiting for the next press conference and crying "Where is FEMA?" while they did nothing. I also saw William Jefferson (D-LA) using the National Guard to go to his house to pick up "valuables"...and seeing what he kept in his freezor, no doubt it was valuable; while Bobby Jindal was knee deep in water filling sandbags and actually working for the people who elected him. In fact the 5 minutes they could find Jindal to do a quick tv interview was either in the midst of working or while taking a short break...while the rest of the nitwits stayed holed up in Baton Rouge waiting for the cameras to come back to them.
I was also in the P-Mac after the storm where the medical triage was set up and heard the stories of these people who had to be evacuated and prayed with them. I heard them say that they didn't know it was going to be that bad and wished their local leaders had done more to help them. And even worst my wife had to counsel a first responder who was there getting a break for a couple of hours before he went back to New Orleans and expected to have to pull more bodies out of the water.
My home state was destroyed by Katrina. A great city that i spent a lot of time in was destroyed and truly it was more horrific than you can even imagine as you make light of what i say...and it sickens me to watch it being used by the dems as a political football to gain some sort of undeserved advantage.
So don't you dare try to lecture me about wanting a link to "Please explain how 'politicizing' the horror of Katrina..." when i know first hand the horror of it.
And you want a link about how Katrina was handled, try looking at my archives: http://liberalimplosion.blogspot.com/2006/08/remembering-katrina.html
Other than resorting to personal attacks and disregarding facts, is there anything useful you do Doc?
Other than resorting to personal attacks and disregarding facts, is there anything useful you do Doc?
I'm sorry if trying to hold you personally accountable for the things you type makes you sad.
I don't know what "facts" I'm disregarding here; perhaps you could enlighten me.
Finally, I'm convinced my job is much more useful than yours (if what you do on Sundays is, in fact, a full-time gig).
Doc, i knew i could at least trust you to cross that line of classlessness and insult me, but to insult the congregation i serve by saying, "Finally, I'm convinced my job is much more useful than yours (if what you do on Sundays is, in fact, a full-time gig)" is below from what i even expected from you. I guess i was wrong there.
And to belittle the work i do in service of God, wow...i'm actually speechless. I really do pity you because you are going to have to stand before God one day and explain all of this.
My posting on this blog is hit and miss because of what i do for my Savior is a lot more important than this, and it is way more important than even giving your way out of left field comments a 2nd thought.
Sad Doc, really sad that you have to resort to such things.
Doc, i don't really believe that you are real and you are nothing more than the creation of someone's imagination. In fact, since you hide behind a screen name i can prove that you don't really exist while you can't prove God does exist.
And here are the facts...repeated once again:
FACT: A former chairman of the DNC and a sitting member of the democrat caucus serving in the US House made a joke about a pending hurricane, making light of a possible tragic event.
FACT: Michael Moore, an apparent spokesman for the DNC who has even had a seat of honor next to former President Jimmy Carter at the 2004 convention made a similar statement.
While no one else in your party will admit to having the same ideas b/c of the possible fallout...as spokesmen, they represent you.
FACT: This is just another example of making light of Katrina, which is also done when it is politicized. Who has politicized Katrina? The democrats...just look at the transcripts from last week's convention and see how many times Katrina was tossed around like a political football. If Joe Biden and Barack Hussein Obama want to politicize Katrina, why don't they go down there and do something more useful than making a political speech and getting a photo op? Obama was a "community organizer", maybe he would be more qualified in helping rebuild communities in New Orleans than sitting in the Oval Office.
FACT: Once again, i was there and i witnessed it. So if i am "foaming at the mouth" it is out of passion for my home state. Where is your passion? Looks like it is in talking points and personal attacks.
These are Republicans--presumably your spokesmen:

I'm guessing that you find nothing wrong with what your party leaders think and say and do?
Your silence speaks volumes.
What is wrong with you? "Silence speaks volumes"???? You ever think that i have a life outside of the blog? Sunday is a church day...all day, and then i was out of town for 2 days; of course i was silent. Dude, my silence says i was away from my computer that is what it says. Read into it what you want, but know that like in everything else you are dead wrong.
And as for that link...what does that have to do with Katrina exploitation by your party?
And you want my opinion, everyone of those perverts who are listed there should be jailed and get exactly what they deserve. This is not a political party issue, it's a pervision issue. And for you to make it a partisan issue is one of the most moronic things i've gotten from you.
Seriously, what is wrong with you?
And for you to make it a partisan issue is one of the most moronic things i've gotten from you.
Seriously, what is wrong with you?
But isn't that what you did with me? Took the words or actions of some Democrat you don't like and then tell me that I must perforce agree with them because I'm a Lefty, too?
And here your are putting words right in my mouth:
and i'm guessing you find nothing wrong with what one of your party leaders thinks? I guess that is more proof.
Dude: I'm just doing the same thing you do.
in your own fantasy world, you think that. In the real world...well, that is where reality sets in and hate to trouble you with that.
