A look at current events from the point of a view of a Conservative Evangelical Christian who stands firmly on the Word of God (that's the Bible for those of you at Berkley) and stands behind the Constitution of the United States of America. So grab yourself a big cup of java, kick back in your chair and enjoy another member of the "vast right wing conspiracy" making his voice heard.
All of the news today was the fact that NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg officially left the Republican party today...funny, i didn't realize he was a Republican!
Let's be honest, is this really a loss for the GOP? I didn't think so either.
First and foremost, I am an American...and i'm proud to be an American.
I grew up in South Louisiana and come from families that are descendants of the Acadians, or Cajuns, who migrated to the Gulf of Mexico region after being expelled from Eastern French Canada in the mid 1700's. Before there was an America, my ancestors were living in America! This is my country of birth, and it is the country that God has blessed me to be a part of. Good or bad, i love America!
So, when i hear Dirty Harry Reid (D-NV) say on June 4 that the Senate is working on the illegal immigration situation and trying to get 12 million "undocumented Americans" out of the shadows, it not only angers me but also sickens me that the left would consider people who could give a rat's patooey about our laws as "American". Here is a clip of Reid's speech on the floor of the Senate from the Clinton News Network:
These people are not "Americans", they are here illegally and they need to be returned back to their nation of origin until they can figure out how to do things the right way. This isn't anti-immigration, it is being pro-US and supporting the laws that help make this land the greatest country on God's green earth! And for the liberals in Congress like Harry Reid to not see this is nothing short of treason and they should be removed from office at the very least.
For over a hundred years immigrants have entered this country legally, many in the shadows of the Statue of Liberty and the inscription of: "Give me your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" Their goal was and is to become part of the great melting pot that makes this country great...to become an American; unlike these illegal aliens who violate our laws to get here and do everything they can to not assimilate into our country.
I'm proud to be an American, once again...and i welcome any and all who chose to enter this country legally. But as for those who choose not to enter legally...they are anything BUT American.
