First of all, i'm not an Imus fan; i think he is a jerk at best and an idiot at the very least. The only time i ever watched his show on TV was before i discovered Fox and Friends and i preferred Imus over the garbage being shown on ABCNNBCBS. I could watch him and know where he stood and that he pretty much hated everyone...unlike Katie Couric and the gang who would spin the news, attack the right and do it with a happy go lucky and oh so friendly smile on their faces.
Also, what he said was just stupid. He knows the political climate of our society and how there are profiteers out there just waiting to jump in and play the race card, like is happening. Racism is still a one way street, and the "guilty" are drug way too easy into the middle of that street where they are hung in effigy. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have made a career out of destroying people and their reputations, and they have apparently made a pretty good amount of money at it too. I just wish i could afford not to have a real job since Martin Luther King was shot and still afford to live in the lap of luxury like Jesse Jackson.
As for the Rutgers team, if they don't want people saying stuff like this...then don't look or play the role! I saw their press conference yesterday and how they were looking as prim and proper as possible...but when not in front of the press corps, do they look and act that way? You don't want to be thought of as an uneducated street thug, then don't look like one! I don't care what color your skin is (Kevin Federline comes to mind, for example)...if you want people to think the worst of you, look your worst; if you want the best, look your best.
It's like the guy i saw at the store earlier, wearing an over sized t-shirt over his baggy PJ bottoms; he pulled up his shirt to expose his pants "sagging" down below his butt and he didn't pull them up, but did pull up his underwear! What was i supposed to think? "Well, here is our future mayor and maybe even a US senator!" Heck no! I thought, what a loser...let me protect my wallet.
Now that Imus is suspended for 2 weeks, here is what i expect:
- Imus will be fired. Both CBS Radio and pMSNBC will cater to the powers that want to be and the almighty race card which means Imus will be gone before these two weeks of suspension are over.
- The shakedown is coming! Jesse Jackson can afford to "protest" every day of the week because of these "donations" that the Rainbow-Push Coalition receives from major US corporations. Of course these so called donations come as a result of what a normal person would call blackmail and threats. "You give us lots and lots of money or we accuse you of racism/bigotry and try you ourselves as judge, jury and executioner." And of course they will gladly pay out of the wazoo to keep from having to see Jesse Jackson and his video cameras in front of their offices on a daily basis.
- Al Sharpton will have an evening pMSNBC show. Or at the very worst he will get on CNBC where they can hide him. Sharpton accused pMSNBC of being "all white, all night" in regards to their prime time line-up, and they are going to jelly fish themselves into giving him a bigger platform for his idiocy and hate mongering. As if the moronic mainstream media needs more of a leftist leaning.
- And finally, expect to see non-stop coverage of the new media darlings, the Rutgers women's basketball team. They are going to be paraded from the Today Show to Oprah and all across CNN and especially pMSNBC until we are sick of them. The sad thing is they are going to become pawns to Jackson and Sharpton and they won't even realize it.
$o, when it i$ all $aid and done, Al $harpton and Je$$e Jack$son will get what they want...ju$tice, a$ they would define it (at least 6 figure$ i'm $ure).
